So we dont spank or give timeouts to our kids. Rather we try to work through their emotions to understand whats going on.
This takes time and tests your patience, but it brings out a better person in you and your kid and makes your kid wants to co operate.
The other day, i was trying to pretend as if I give timeouts to my elder one. I was keenly watching his face as I pretended as if Im angry and asked him to go to a corner. Its amazing how his face reacted as I was shouting commands at him. His face turned red to uncertain to a puzzled look to finally abandonment, before I told him I was pretending at which I could clearly see relief in his eyes.
