Wish our schools were more interesting..

So,  I was listening to an interview on radio about Anne Frank. The guest was a cousin of Anne frank who knew her intimately. As I recollected reading about her in my high school syllabus, it was so exciting to listen to some one how knew her so well.
I am sure most of us have read about her diary in school or atleast heard about her extra ordinary story about
survival and hope. As I was reading, I was taken back to my high school days when Anne frank's diary was part of our syllabus.
I remember it was a 2 page chapter and was more of an summary of her diary. So, most of us just skimmed through it
and answered a few questions about that chapter in the exam and promptly forgot about her.
As I was listening to the radio program, it struck me suddenly, what a fun it would have been to have read her complete diary at that time or listened
to such programs as we were reading through that chapter. Suddenly, a boring 2 page chapter would become a gateway to a glorius book to know about an interesting
person. Additionally, it would have got us thinking , which I believe is the crux of education and schools.
As an added bonus, the questions in the exam about this chapter woudl have been a breeze :) .
Extrapolate similar activitiy for all subjects and chapters and wow, every year of school would be so refreshing, informative and fun.!!!
I can go on and on , but you get the idea.  Education could be made so much more interesting and enriched.
